RUTHERFORD BOUND is a venture launched in 2018 by the Rutherford County Tourism Development Authority (RCTDA) and all of the county's municipal partners. Funds received from occupancy taxes paid, for short-term lodging accommodations, within the county, are being used by RCTDA to promote Rutherford County as a premier tourism destination. A great example of how the occupancy tax is being applied for marketing purposes is this free annual travel guide. These funds are also being used to help construct numerous tourism-related capital infrastructure projects in the county. The RCTDA and its partners have been working together to leverage occupancy tax dollars to help secure additional grant funding.
The RCTDA also seeks partnerships with individuals, businesses, and industries interested in helping to strategically invest in critical infrastructure needs right here within Rutherford County.
