The race begins and ends in downtown Forest City near the Pavilion On Park Square where Movement Fest will be held from 10am-2pm.
Station Leaders
Six station leaders means your challenges will vary greatly from fun interactive puzzles to physical labor!
Each challenge has been designed for ages 10 to 100 and relates to the leaders' mission. Be sure to check out their websites hyperlinked below to gather some hints:

Looking for prizes? Great! Your team could receive amazing prizes if:

You are one of the first teams to finish in either the bike or pedestrian category

Your team has the best themed outfits (i.e. matching shirts, tu-tu's, costumes etc.)

A station sponsor selects your team for your performance at their station

Race 4-1-1
The TBRT Amazing Race is a one-of-a-kind event. Teams of four will race from station to station along the Thermal Belt Rail Trail seeking out their next clue in a game of wits, know-how and team-building, all while getting a good workout!

Hosted by the Rutherford Railroad Development Corporation in honor of 2023 being named North Carolina's Year of the Trail

Competitors will be challenged as a team throughout a variety of stations
-
The race will take place along an 8-mile section of the TBRT, beginning and ending at Forest City’s Park Square trail access point
-
Competitors will be given their first challenge at the start of the race
-
You may walk, run or bike this race, but bikes are encouraged to cover the eight miles and seven challenges within the approximate four-hour timeframe

Prizes will be given in two categories for a variety of accomplishments for pedestrians and bikers

Ages 10+ are eligible to participate with an adult 21 years of age or older
-
Exercise clothing and comfortable sneakers are encouraged

The TBRT Amazing Race will conclude at Movement Fest inside Forest City's Pavilion on Park Square (POPS)

Volunteers Needed
One way to support the Amazing Race is by volunteering. We are looking for volunteers to help keep everything running smoothly throughout the event. Each volunteer will receive a free “Amazing Staff” T-shirt, a bandana and lunch!
Our success depends on your participation! Volunteering will involve:

A 1-hour planning meeting — Friday, Sept 8th @ 10:30am, Pavilion On Park Square (POPS)

Your Event Assignment — Saturday, Sept 9th @ 8am to ~2pm, check-in at our Registration Tent near the Park Square TBRT parking access/bathrooms. (Your “Amazing Staff” t-shirt and bandana will be available at orientation. Lunch will be provided on race day.)

Positions needed include: Registration, Station Support (Check-In, Runner, Judge), Hydration Station Attendant, Traffic Control, Floater, Finisher, Clean Up.

Interacting with three dozen teams of four as they race against the clock - navigating seven stations over eight miles of trail, with many competitors on bikes. They are going to need your help!
